The temperature rises, the snow disappears and meltwater turns the quiet stream in the valley into a swirling river. Flowers shoot out of the ground and we cycle again 'short-short'. The changes of the seasons are even more visible in the mountains. 

Things are also changing in our hotel. This is how we said goodbye to Véronique. After 28 years (!) of loyal service, our chamber lady is going into well-deserved retirement. We are going to miss you, dear Véro. We also said goodbye to our beds. Those made way for new box springs. In all rooms, that is!

Meanwhile, our entire team is on holiday. Our chef Anne kills three birds with one stone. During her holiday (1) with her newlywed man Simon (2!), she let herself into an Italian agriturismo inspire the new summer menu (3).

But the most exciting step is Valentine & Yvonne's upcoming trip. After ten years of hard work at the hotel, they are travelling to Thailand this week! Not together like ten years ago on bikes, but with Tygo, Iza and Lilou to enjoy a long, deserved holiday until August.

Until then, we can manage just fine without the Van der Valk family. Because with a summer full of groups, we are looking forward to it! So we're jumping on bikes with cycling groups such as WTC Knesselare, the Windjammers and Maats Cycling Culture.
