It's time to blow out the candles, because this winter we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hotel Saint Roch! It seems like the day of yesterday that Vincent, Ilonka, Yvonne and Valentine fumbled when they first walked in 10 years ago and could not find the light switch in the dark hotel.
And look where we are now: ten years and 11 winter seasons on. This winter, the company is buzzing like never before. Read along?
Anne, our chef, is now co-owner of the hotel! Together with Simon, they moved to our mountain village four years ago and fell in love with both nature and their work. Anne loves nothing more than making our guests happy with her colourful dishes. 'Food is a feast, a treat. With that, I want to surprise my guests and hopefully see them step outside with a smile. Get to know Anne and her kitchen team on our website!

There was much more to celebrate! On New Year's Eve, we welcomed as many as 160 guests for a sumptuous 7-course dinner. The new year party went on into the wee hours. We also went out on our own and visited (on the sled!) a hut in the mountains. Even the little ones share in the revelry at Saint Roch, as evidenced by the weekly Pizza Parties.
And that snow? It's smiling at us! While horror stories circulate about green ski slopes in the Alps, we proudly boast in the top-10 of most snowfall in France. And this has been true for many years, partly due to our microclimate. Wintersport.co.uk wrote an article About our snow-sure status, among other things.
We squeeze our hands and are simultaneously aware of Mother Nature's whims. Fortunately, our hotel is also a place full of adventure in summer!
A sneak preview of our summer schedule: we host the most fun cycling groups in June, the Tour de France passes by in Briançon again and Embrun, like the French MTB Championships. You can participate in a mountain retreat at our chalet in July, and for excitement and thrills you need to be at Le Pilgrimage be (although it was already sold out within 24 hours...!).
What do your adventures look like this summer?
Hope to see you soon!
