Hotel Saint Roch is proud to welcome chef Anne Pekelharing as its new co-owner. With her motto "Party on your plate", Anne brings a tasteful party to the restaurant and lays a culinary foundation for the future of the hotel.
Anne's culinary creations are characterised by the use of honest, nutritious and colourful ingredients. With the Italian border just 30 kilometres away, Hotel Saint Roch's menu reflects the influence of Italian cuisine, complemented by French and local flavours. The trout, from the Durance, and the cheeses from the Queyras region are examples.
Anne's culinary adventure began at the Hotelvakschool in Maastricht, followed by experiences at well-known Amsterdam establishments such as the Rijks (*) and Madam. In 2015, she cycled solo from Oslo to Sicily, where she sampled diverse food cultures. Three years ago, Anne and her husband Simon found their home in Puy-Saint-Vincent and fell in love with the village and its surroundings.

Anne and Simon's arrival fits into the company's story, which previously saw Valentijn van der Valk settle down in Puy-Saint-Vincent with his wife Yvonne after a trip around the world by bike, and of course Vincent and Ilonka Biermans who sought out the French mountain village over 20 years ago for the endless possibilities in the valley.
Anne's current kitchen team consists of a group of close-knit professionals, including sous chef Hans, who has worked for restaurants such as Mes Amis, Wolf Atelier and restaurant de Kas (*). Hotel Saint Roch's cakes are in good hands with bakers Francine and Julian, and the icing on the cake is pastry chef Jur, who learned to make desserts at world-famous patisserie restaurant Het Gebaar (*) in Antwerp.
For Anne, the kitchen at Hotel Saint Roch is all about experience and surprise. For her, eating out is not just a meal; 'It is an experience, a celebration. With my dishes, I want to give my guests a tasty memory, so they always step out with a smile'.
